Acquisition of majority shareholding of METKA S.A.,
the largest metal constructions plant in Greece.

With an extensive investment program, MYTILINEOS
makes an entry into the energy sector.
2005 >
Acquisition of ALUMINIUM OF GREECE S.A., the largest
producer of alumina and aluminium in S.E. Europe.
2006 >
The presence of the Group is strengthened in the sector
of Renewable Energy Sources through the acquisition of DELTA
PROJECT and SPIDER ENERGY companies.
2007 >
Forging of a strategic partnership with ENDESA and
establishment of ENDESA HELLAS, the largest independent
producer of energy in Greece.
Completion of a triple merger through the absorption of ALU-
MINIUM OF GREECE and DELTA PROJECT by MYTILINEOS.
2008 >
The combined heat and power cogeneration plant (CHP)
enters its test operation phase; this is the first thermal plant of
the Group to be connected to the national power grid.
Strategic partnership agreement signed with MOTOR OIL com-
pany in the energy sector for the construction and operation of a
473 MW commercial power plant.
2009>
MOTOR OIL and MYTILINEOS Group join forces in the
Natural Gas Market.
2010 >
Natural Gas Market Deregulation. MYTILINEOS Group
becomes the first private player to procure Liquefied Natural
Gas (LNG).
The MYTILINEOS Group and ENEL reach to an agreement for
the acquisition of the latter’s share in ENDESA HELLAS. This
move led to the establishment of the energy company Proter-
gia, making the Group the sole shareholder and as a result the
country’s largest independent producer of energy.
Establishment of M&M Gas Co. S.A., a joint-venture with MOTOR
OIL, for the purpose of importing and trading natural gas.
Establishment of Power Projects, subsidiary of METKA, in Turkey.
2011 >
Commencement of commercial operation of the 444MW
power unit in Agios Nikolaos.
2012>
Commencement of commercial operation of the 437MW
power unit in Korinthos.
Operation of 3 new photovoltaic plants with a total capacity of
11,5 MW, in Arta, Viota and Aitoloakarnania.
