A distinctive orange rolling metal formwork has been installed for its construction, which will be used for concreting and will move hydraulically along the entire project, resting on the already constructed piers.

Representing the Kedrinos Lofos S.A. consortium, Evangelos Chrysafis, President of M Concessions and Vice President & Executive Board Member of METLEN Energy & Metals, and Konstantinos Mitzalis, CEO of AVAX Group, attended the visit. METKA S.A., which is jointly undertaking the project with AVAX Group, was represented by Dinos Benroubi, Vice President and CEO of METKA S.A..

The Flyover, a cutting-edge €462.7 million project, is progressing on schedule, with 20% of the construction already completed. The new elevated highway will stretch over 9.5 kilometers and is expected to serve 10,000 vehicles per hour, significantly easing traffic congestion in Thessaloniki. The project is estimated to be completed by 2027. Additionally, it includes the construction of 13 kilometers of elevated roadway, nine interchanges, eight new bridges, and three new tunnels. Approximately 300 workers and 70 heavy machines are currently involved in the project.

During the visit, the Prime Minister highlighted that the Flyover will provide substantial traffic relief for Thessaloniki’s ring road, emphasizing that the government had successfully completed the project's tendering and preparation, aiming for its completion by mid-2027. He added that this is one of many key infrastructure interventions planned by the government to enhance the quality of life in Thessaloniki.

The Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Christos Staikouras underscored that the project is progressing according to schedule. He noted that multiple construction fronts had opened, the first formwork was in place, and a second one was on its way, while the project was set for full completion in May 2027, with 20% already finished.
