In 2013, our Group’s needs led to the re-
cruitment of 323 new employees, against
a total of 276 employee departures tak-
ing place during the year, a figure sub-
stantially lower (14%) compared to 2012.
Of these departures, 63% were due to the
expiry of fixed-term or work contracts,
16% to retirement, 14% to voluntary de-
partures and 7% to termination of em-
ployment contracts or dismissals. In cas-
es of voluntary personnel departures and
in line with the standing practice of the
Group subsidiaries, exit interviews were
held to discuss the reasons for the de-
parture. In order to fill the vacancies cre-
ated by these departures, all companies
gave priority to utilising existing person-
nel through internal job rotation or pro-
motions.
The Group’s personnel turnover was 13.8%
(including retirements) or 11.6% (exclud-
ing retirements). Employability in our
Group is strongly affected by the need to
recruit employees, especially in the Met-
allurgy & Mining sector, for seasonal em-
ployment during the summer (electrolysis
workers), and by the fact that a significant
part of the activities of METKA S.A. and
DELPHI-DISTOMON S.A. is assigned to spe-
cialist subcontractors and freelance pro-
fessionals. The changes observed in em-
ployment data for the various regions are
due mainly to fluctuating needs by geo-
graphical region, depending on the progress
of each Construction & EPC Projects sec-
tor contract performed locally.
